Is the HP OmniBook 3 17.3 good for everyday use?

Yes. The Core Ultra 5 225U, 16GB of RAM and 1TB SSD handle browsing, Office work, video calls and light photo editing comfortably. It is not a gaming or video-editing machine because graphics are integrated.

Does it have a number pad and backlit keyboard?

Yes. The keyboard includes a dedicated number pad and is backlit, which suits spreadsheet work and dim rooms.

Can I connect an external monitor?

Yes, through the HDMI port. The 17.3-inch 1920 x 1080 screen is the built-in display.

Is 1TB of storage enough?

For most users, yes. A 1TB SSD holds a large document, photo and media library, and leaves room for programs. Heavy video files will still fill it over time.

Is $799.79 a good price?

It is the only new price listed as of November 7, 2026, at Best Buy, so there is no cheaper recent price to compare against. For a 17-inch laptop with 16GB RAM and a 1TB SSD, it is a reasonable figure.

Is it heavy to carry?

Expect a 17.3-inch laptop to be noticeably heavier and bulkier than a 13- or 14-inch model. It suits a desk or a bag carried short distances more than daily commuting.
