Our take on the 27" Lava Lamp Pink/Purple

This is a 27-inch lava lamp with pink wax floating in purple liquid, set in a hand-spun aluminum base and cap with a silver finish. It stands about 2.25 feet tall and 10.5 inches wide, runs on a corded 100 W incandescent bulb, and is UL certified. The best new price is $114.99 at CCMusic.com as of November 3, 2026, with three stores listing it new. Large-format lava lamps of this size typically sell in the $100 to $150 range, so this price sits in the middle of the pack rather than at a clear low.

Questions and answers

Is $114.99 a good price for this lava lamp?
It is a reasonable mid-range price for a 27-inch lamp. The best new price is $114.99 at CCMusic.com as of November 3, 2026, and three stores list it new, so compare those before buying.
How long does it take to warm up?
Large lava lamps like this usually need one to two hours for the wax to soften and start flowing. Cool rooms slow it down.
Can I use an LED bulb in it?
It is built for a 100 W incandescent bulb, and the heat is part of what makes the wax flow. A cooler LED bulb may stop the lava from moving properly.
Is it safe around children?
No. It is marked not child safe, and the glass globe and hot bulb make it a poor fit for a kid's room. Keep it out of reach of children.
What is in the box?
You get the glass globe, the aluminum base and cap, and the cord with an on/off switch. Check whether the bulb is included before you buy.
Where should I put it?
On a sturdy tabletop in a bedroom, office, dorm or man cave, away from kids and direct sun. It is tabletop-only and should not go outdoors.
