Is Soil & Sea worth it for a dog with loose stools?

It is a reasonable first supplement to try if the stool problem is mild and diet-related, since it pairs a prebiotic with probiotics. If diarrhea lasts more than a couple of days, or the dog is lethargic or losing weight, see a vet first.

How much do I give my dog?

Dose by weight: 1/8 tsp for 6–15 lbs, 1/4 tsp for 16–39 lbs, 1/2 tsp for 40–59 lbs, 3/4 tsp for 60–89 lbs and 1 tsp for 90 lbs and over. Mix it into food once daily.

Does it need to be refrigerated?

Yes. Refrigerate the tub after opening to keep the live cultures viable. That makes it awkward to take on trips unless you carry a cooler.

How long does a 40 g tub last?

It depends on dog size. A small dog at 1/8 tsp gets weeks out of a tub, while a large dog at 3/4–1 tsp will finish it much faster and may need a repeat purchase each month.

Is it safe for dogs with SIBO?

The maker markets it for dogs with SIBO or suspected SIBO, but SIBO is a diagnosis that needs a vet. Use it alongside, not instead of, a veterinary treatment plan.

When is the price lowest?

The best new price seen is $32.99 at rawpetfooddeliverymarket as of November 3, 2026, with three stores listing it new. Compare those listings before buying, since supplement prices move with stock.
