Our take on the Healthy Gut Digestive Enzyme / Pre & Probiotic

Healthy Gut is a powdered pre- and probiotic with added digestive enzymes from Adored Beast, a Canadian brand known for vet-formulated pet supplements. It uses the Love Bugs base with a multi-strain probiotic blend at 30 billion CFU per serving, plus enzymes to help break down food and support nutrient absorption. The 1.4-ounce jar is small, so a serving size of a small scoop means it lasts a few weeks for one pet. At $35.99 at Four Muddy Paws as of November 3, 2026, it sits at the low end of its recent range across the three stores that carry it.

Questions and answers

Is Healthy Gut worth it?
If your pet has soft stools, gas or is recovering from antibiotics, it is a reasonable one-product option because it combines prebiotics, 30 billion CFU probiotics and enzymes. Pets with no digestive issues will see little benefit.
How is it different from Adored Beast Love Bugs?
Love Bugs is the probiotic base; Healthy Gut adds digestive enzymes on top of that base to help break down food and improve nutrient absorption. Choose Love Bugs for general flora support and Healthy Gut when digestion itself is the concern.
How much powder do I give and how long does a jar last?
Dosing is by pet weight and is printed on the label, so check it before starting. At 1.4 ounces, a small dog may get several weeks from a jar while a large dog will go through it much faster.
Can I use it during or after antibiotics?
It is marketed for rebalancing flora destroyed by antibiotics and toxins, and many owners use it after a course. Space it a couple of hours apart from the antibiotic dose and confirm timing with your vet.
Is it safe for cats and small pets?
It is sold as a pet supplement for adult animals, and owners use it with both dogs and cats. Ask your vet before giving it to very small pets, pregnant animals or pets on other medication.
When is the price lowest?
It was $35.99 at Four Muddy Paws as of November 3, 2026, near the bottom of its recent range. Only three stores carry it, so compare those before buying and watch for bundle discounts.
