Our take on the American Standard Evolution 72 x 36-Inch Deep Soak Drop-In Bathtub With EverClean Hydromassage System

The American Standard Evolution 7236VC is a 72 x 36-inch drop-in acrylic bathtub with a built-in EverClean hydromassage system and a reversible drain. Its 18.5-inch water depth and 111-gallon capacity make it one of the deeper standard-size tubs you can buy. The white finish, IAPMO certification and 10-year residential warranty suit a master bath remodel. At $1,761.99 at Lowe's as of November 6, 2026, it is the only new price listed, so there is no recent low to compare against.

Questions and answers

Is the hydromassage system included?
Yes. The 7236VC ships with the EverClean hydromassage system built in, not as an add-on. The jets and pump are part of the tub.
How deep is the water?
American Standard lists 18.5 inches of water depth and 111 gallons of capacity. That is deeper than most standard 60-inch tubs, so expect a higher step over the rim.
Can the drain go on either side?
Yes. The drain is reversible, so it can be set for left- or right-hand plumbing. The drain opening is 2.125 inches.
What are the rough-in dimensions?
The tub is 72 inches long and 36 inches wide, drop-in style. Confirm the cutout and deck size against American Standard's installation sheet before framing.
Is it worth the price?
At $1,761.99 at Lowe's as of November 6, 2026, you pay for a large deep-soak tub with a built-in whirlpool and a 10-year warranty. Comparable air or whirlpool tubs in this size often cost more.
Does it need special floor support?
A full tub weighs roughly 900 pounds or more with water and a bather. Have a contractor check joist capacity before installation.
Where is the American Standard Evolution 72 x 36-Inch Deep Soak Drop-In Bathtub With EverClean Hydromassage System cheapest?
At Lowe's, for $1,761.99, as of our latest check.
