Is the RG 35XXSP worth it at $76.99?

Yes, if you want a folding retro handheld for 8- and 16-bit systems and PS1. At $76.99 at Amazon as of November 5, 2026, it undercuts most clamshell rivals, but only one store lists it new, so there is no cheaper option to wait for.

What systems can it run?

It handles NES, SNES, Genesis, Game Boy, GBA and most PS1 games well. N64 and Dreamcast run only partially, and heavier titles drop frames on the H700 chip.

How long does the battery last?

Anbernic rates it at about 8 hours on the 3300mAh battery. Real use is usually shorter at high brightness or with Wi-Fi on, and it charges over USB-C at 5V/1.5A.

Does it come with games?

Some bundles ship with a 64GB microSD holding a preloaded library, while the 16GB version does not. Check which storage option the listing is for before buying.

Can I use Bluetooth headphones?

No. Bluetooth 4.2 works only with controllers, so wired headphones or a USB-C adapter are needed for audio.

How does it compare to the RG 35XX H?

The SP adds a folding lid and a taller body, while the H is a horizontal slab with the same chip and screen. Pick the SP for pocket protection and the H for grip during long sessions.

Our take on the Anbernic RG 35XXSP

The Anbernic RG 35XXSP is a clamshell handheld built to look like a Game Boy Advance SP. It runs a quad-core H700 chip with 1GB of RAM on a 3.5-inch 640x480 screen, and its 3300mAh battery is rated for about 8 hours. It plays games up to PlayStation 1 and some Dreamcast and N64 through emulators, and it folds shut to fit a pocket. The best new price is $76.99 at Amazon as of November 5, 2026, and only one store lists it new, so there is little price competition to wait for.
