Questions and answers
- Is the M4 MacBook Air worth it over the M3 or M2?
- If you already own an M2 or M3 Air, the jump is modest. Coming from an Intel Mac or an 8 GB M1, the M4 with 16 GB RAM is a clear upgrade.
- Is 16 GB of RAM enough?
- For browsing, office work, coding and light photo editing, yes. For heavy video editing or many virtual machines, consider a higher-memory configuration.
- Can I upgrade the storage later?
- No. The SSD is soldered, so choose the capacity you need at purchase. 256 GB suits cloud-based users; 512 GB is safer for local photo and video libraries.
- How long does the battery last?
- Apple rates it at up to 18 hours. Real-world mixed use typically lands well short of that but still covers a full workday.
- What comes in the box?
- The laptop and a USB-C power adapter with a MagSafe charging cable. No external mouse or sleeve is included.
- Does it have a touchscreen?
- No. The 13.6-inch Liquid Retina display is not a touchscreen.
