Is the 128 GB Apple TV 4K worth it over the 64 GB?

Yes if you want a wired Ethernet connection or Thread for smart-home devices. The 64 GB model is Wi-Fi only and has no Thread radio. Storage itself matters little because apps stream rather than download.

How is it different from the 2nd generation Apple TV 4K?

The 3rd generation uses the A15 Bionic chip instead of the A12, adds HDR10+ support, and ships with the USB-C Siri Remote. The 128 GB version also adds Ethernet and Thread. Otherwise the design and 4K Dolby Vision output are the same.

Does it support Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos?

Yes. It outputs 4K Dolby Vision and HDR10+, and passes Dolby Atmos to a compatible soundbar or receiver. Your TV and audio gear must support those formats too.

Can I use it without an iPhone?

Yes, but setup is easier with an iPhone for automatic sign-in and Wi-Fi transfer. Some features, like AirPlay from Apple devices and HomeKit control, work best inside Apple's ecosystem.

The Apple TV 4K box, the Siri Remote (3rd generation), a USB-C charging cable and documentation. An HDMI cable is not included.

Our take on the Apple TV 4K (3rd generation)

The Apple TV 4K (3rd generation) is Apple's 2022 streaming box, running tvOS with the A15 Bionic chip and a Siri Remote that charges over USB-C. It supports 4K HDR in Dolby Vision and HDR10+, Dolby Atmos, and works as a HomeKit hub. The 128 GB version adds a wired Ethernet port and Thread networking; the 64 GB version is Wi-Fi only.
