Our take on the AstrHori 14mm f/4.5 Lens

The AstrHori 14mm f/4.5 is a tiny manual-focus ultra-wide prime for mirrorless cameras, sold in Sony E, Nikon Z, Fujifilm X, Canon EF-M and Micro Four Thirds mounts. It weighs about 99 g and is 22 mm long, so it adds almost nothing to a bag. The aperture is fixed at f/4.5 and there is no stabilization or weather sealing. At $52.64 at eBay as of November 4, 2026, it sits at the low end of its recent range and is one of the cheapest ways to get a 14mm view.

Best forLandscape and city shooters on a tight budgetTravel and hiking kits where weight mattersVideo and vlogging on a gimbal or tripodOwners of older mirrorless bodies who don't mind manual focus
Pros
  • Very small and light at about 99 g and 22 mm long
  • 14mm gives a very wide field of view on full frame
  • Fixed f/4.5 keeps the design simple and cheap
  • 55 mm front filter thread, unusual at this price
  • Available in five mirrorless mounts
Cons
  • Manual focus only, with no autofocus or focus confirmation
  • Fixed f/4.5 aperture, so no stopping down for sharpness or depth of field
  • No image stabilization and no weather sealing
  • Six elements in five groups means soft corners and some distortion are likely
  • Only front and rear caps included, no hood or case

What reviewers say

Owner reports on budget manual ultra-wides like this one are mixed. People like the size and price and accept soft corners and vignetting, but the lack of autofocus and a fixed aperture limits it to careful, tripod-friendly shooting.

Pros
  • Tiny and light enough to carry always
  • Wide view for the money
  • Simple all-manual operation
Cons
  • Soft corners wide open
  • Noticeable distortion and vignetting
  • Hard to focus accurately without magnification

Questions and answers

Is the AstrHori 14mm f/4.5 worth it?
At $52.64 at eBay as of November 4, 2026, it is a cheap way to try ultra-wide shooting. Expect to focus manually and accept soft corners. It suits tripod and landscape work more than fast handheld shooting.
Does it autofocus?
No. It is manual focus only, with a minimum focus distance of 9.06 in. You will need focus peaking or magnification on your camera to hit focus reliably.
Which cameras does it fit?
It comes in Sony E, Nikon Z, Fujifilm X, Canon EF-M and Micro Four Thirds mounts. Check the mount before ordering, since the same lens name is sold in several versions.
Can I use filters on it?
Yes. It takes 55 mm front filters, which is handy for ND and polarizers on a wide lens. A polarizer can show uneven skies at 14mm on full frame.
What is in the box?
Only the lens, a front cap and a rear cap. There is no hood, pouch or case, so plan to buy a 55 mm filter and a small pouch separately.
When is it cheapest?
It is a low-volume budget lens, so prices move with seller stock rather than sales cycles. The current $52.64 at eBay as of November 4, 2026 is already near the bottom of its range; compare the two new listings before buying.
Where is the AstrHori 14mm f/4.5 Lens cheapest?
At B&H Photo-Video-Audio, for $69.00, as of our latest check.
Where can I buy the AstrHori 14mm f/4.5 Lens?
