Is the Zinus Balanced Comfort Signature Hybrid worth it?

It is a reasonable pick if you want a softer hybrid at a low price and weigh under about 200 pounds. Heavier sleepers or anyone who wants firm support should look at a firmer model.

How does it compare with an all-foam Zinus mattress?

The hybrid core adds bounce and makes it easier to move around than Zinus's all-foam beds. It also tends to sleep a little cooler, though it is still softer than most foam models.

Does the gel memory foam really sleep cool?

Zinus rates cooling 8/10, and owners generally find it less heat-trapping than basic memory foam. It is not actively cooled, so hot sleepers may still want a breathable mattress protector.

What sizes does it come in?

It is sold in Twin, Full, Queen and King. Twin suits kids' rooms and guest beds; Queen and King are the common picks for couples.

How long does it take to expand after unboxing?

Most bed-in-a-box hybrids, including Zinus, fully expand within 48 to 72 hours. Sleep on it sooner if needed, but give it a few days before judging the firmness.

When is the price lowest?

Zinus mattresses tend to drop during major sales events and around holiday weekends. Check the price history on this page before buying.

Our take on the Balanced Comfort Signature Hybrid Mattress

The Zinus Balanced Comfort Signature Hybrid Mattress combines gel memory foam with a support core in a bed-in-a-box design. It is sold in Twin, Full, Queen and King, and Zinus rates it 8/10 for comfort, 7/10 for support and 8/10 for cooling. The gel foam layer is meant to sleep cooler than plain memory foam, and the hybrid build adds more bounce and edge support than an all-foam Zinus. It is a mid-priced mattress aimed at shoppers who want a softer, cooler hybrid without paying premium-brand prices.
