Our take on the Balsam Hill Broadway Fiber Optics Artificial Christmas Tree

The Broadway is a slim, prelit artificial Christmas tree with fiber-optic strands built into the branches, so it changes color without string lights. It stands 6.5 ft tall and 4.5 ft wide, with True Needle foliage and a slender profile for tighter rooms. The best new price is $899 at Balsam Hill as of November 5, 2026, and it is the only new price listed.

  • Color-changing spectrum with mixed-color options
  • Slim 4.5 ft footprint fits tighter spaces
  • True Needle foliage looks fuller than flat PVC
  • Prelit setup, no strings to hang
Cons
  • $899 is a high price for a 6.5 ft artificial tree
  • Fiber-optic trees glow from within, so the look differs from string lights
  • Fewer lights near the outer tips than a densely strung tree
  • Repairs to fiber-optic strands are not a simple bulb swap
  • Slim shape holds fewer ornaments than a full tree

Questions and answers

How does a fiber-optic tree light up?
A light source in the base sends light through fiber strands woven into the branches. The strands glow at the tips, and a wheel changes the color. There are no bulbs to hang or replace on the branches.
Is the Broadway tree full or slim?
It is slim: 6.5 ft tall and about 4.5 ft wide. That suits tighter rooms, but it holds fewer ornaments than a full-profile tree.
What sizes does it come in?
Listings show 5.5 ft and 6.5 ft versions. Check the height and width before ordering, since the footprint changes with size.
Does it come with lights already on it?
Yes. It is prelit with fiber-optic strands, so you plug it in and choose a color setting rather than stringing lights.
Is $899 a good price for it?
It is the only new price listed, $899 at Balsam Hill as of November 5, 2026, so there is no competing new price to compare. Balsam Hill trees often discount around the holidays, so watch for seasonal markdowns.
Can I use it outdoors?
It is built as an indoor tree. Keep it out of rain and damp, which can damage the fiber-optic light source in the base.
Where is the Balsam Hill Broadway Fiber Optics Artificial Christmas Tree cheapest?
At Balsam Hill, for $899.00, as of our latest check.
What do buyers say about the Balsam Hill Broadway Fiber Optics Artificial Christmas Tree?
Rated 4.6 out of 5 from 56 ratings.
