Our take on the Bemis Mayfair 1815CP 000 Elongated Cushioned Vinyl Soft Toilet Seat

The Bemis Mayfair 1815CP is an elongated, closed-front toilet seat with a cushioned white vinyl cover. It fits most manufacturers' elongated bowls and includes the STA-TITE fastening system, which installs from above the bowl and resists loosening. The molded wood core under the vinyl gives it more structure than a thin foam seat. At $15.99 at eBay as of November 4, 2026, it sits at the low end of its recent range, well under the $30–$45 most stores charge for cushioned Bemis seats.

Pros

  • Elongated shape fits most standard elongated bowls
  • STA-TITE hinges install from above and stay tight

  • Low price for a cushioned, brand-name seat
Cons
  • Vinyl can crack or split at the hinge over years of use
  • Cushion traps warmth and can feel sticky in humid bathrooms
  • Not for round bowls; measure before buying
  • White only, so it may not match colored fixtures
  • Cushioned seats generally wear faster than solid plastic

Questions and answers

Is the Bemis Mayfair 1815CP worth it?
Yes if you want a soft seat at a low price. The cushioned vinyl and STA-TITE hinges are the main draws, and at $15.99 at eBay as of November 4, 2026 it costs less than most cushioned seats.
Will it fit my toilet?
It fits elongated bowls only, about 14.13 inches wide and 18.6 inches deep. Measure your bowl from the hinge holes to the front rim; if it is about 18.5 inches, it should fit.
How does it compare with a hard plastic seat?
It is softer and warmer to sit on, but the vinyl cover wears faster than solid plastic and can crack at the hinge. Hard plastic lasts longer; this one is more comfortable.
What is included in the box?
The seat, lid and the STA-TITE fastening system with bolts and nuts. No tools beyond a screwdriver are needed, and the hinges tighten from above the bowl.
When is it cheapest?
Cushioned seats tend to dip during home-improvement sales and back-to-school promotions. The $15.99 eBay price as of November 4, 2026 is already near the bottom of its recent range.
Where is the Bemis Mayfair 1815CP 000 Elongated Cushioned Vinyl Soft Toilet Seat cheapest?
