Is the Big Barker worth $339.95?

It is one of the most expensive large-dog beds, but the 7-inch orthopedic build is aimed at heavy or senior dogs that need joint support. If your dog is under 50 lbs or a chewer, a cheaper bed makes more sense.

How does it compare with a standard orthopedic bed?

The Big Barker is thicker at 7 inches and adds a 2-inch comfort layer, where most orthopedic beds are 3 to 4 inches of foam. That extra loft is the main reason for the higher price.

What sizes and styles does it come in?

This listing is the 48-inch square XL in the 7-inch pillow top build. It is also sold in headrest, sleek and sofa editions, and in lilac, burgundy, chocolate, coastal and khaki.

Can the cover be washed?

Yes. The microsuede cover zips off for washing. The foam core itself should not go in the machine.

Is it good for a dog that chews?

No. Big Barker states the bed is not chew-resistant, so destructive chewers should be kept away from it or given a different bed.

When is the price lowest?

Only one store, Amazon, lists it new at $339.95 as of November 5, 2026. Watch for seasonal sales and check the price history before buying.
