Our take on the Bilt Hard 26 in. 252cc 2-Stage Tracked Gas Snow Blower

The Bilt Hard 26 in. 252cc two-stage tracked snow blower is a gas machine built for deep, heavy snow. It clears a 26-inch path and pulls in snow up to 20 inches high, with a 252cc engine and electric start so you don't have to yank a cord in the cold. Tracks instead of wheels give it grip on slopes and icy driveways. Its best new price is $1,299.99 at Bilt Hard as of November 3, 2026, and two stores list it new.

Pros
  • Two-stage auger and impeller throw snow far, not just push it
  • 26-inch width and 20-inch intake handle deep snow in fewer passes
  • Electric start avoids pull-cord frustration on cold mornings
  • Tracks give better traction on hills and ice than wheels
  • 252cc engine is sized for serious residential use
Cons
  • Tracks make steering and turning harder than wheeled models
  • Heavy and bulky to store; needs real garage space
  • Gas engine means fuel, oil changes and seasonal maintenance
  • At $1,299.99 it costs more than many wheeled 26-inch blowers
  • No headlight or heated grips listed at this price

Questions and answers

Is the Bilt Hard tracked snow blower worth $1,299.99?
If you have a long or sloped driveway and heavy snow, the two-stage design and tracks justify the price. For light snow or a flat, short driveway, a cheaper wheeled single-stage model will do the job.
How does it compare with a wheeled 26-inch blower?
Tracks give more traction on hills, gravel and ice, but wheeled machines steer and turn more easily. Pick tracks for slope and grip, wheels for maneuverability.
Does it have electric start?
Yes. It has electric start alongside the gas engine, so you can start it without pulling a cord in freezing weather.
How much snow can it handle?
It clears a 26-inch-wide path and takes in snow up to 20 inches high. The two-stage auger and impeller move that snow out of the way rather than just pushing it.
When is the price lowest?
Snow blowers usually discount in late winter and early spring, when demand drops. As of November 3, 2026, the best new price is $1,299.99 at Bilt Hard.
Where is the Bilt Hard 26 in. 252cc 2-Stage Tracked Gas Snow Blower cheapest?
