Is the Chrome Tour worth the price over the Chrome Soft?

If you want more greenside spin and a firmer, faster tour ball, yes. The Chrome Soft is softer and cheaper but spins less on short shots.

How does it compare with the Chrome Tour X?

The Chrome Tour is softer and spins a bit less; the X is firmer and built for higher swing speeds and maximum spin. Pick the X if you want a stiffer feel.

Is it good for mid handicappers?

Yes, if you have enough swing speed to compress a tour ball. Higher handicappers may lose distance and forgiveness compared with a two-piece ball.

Our take on the Callaway Chrome Tour Golf Balls

The Callaway Chrome Tour is Callaway's tour-level urethane golf ball, a three-piece design built for soft feel and high short-game spin with driver distance to match. It sits below the firmer Chrome Tour X and above the two-piece Chrome Soft in Callaway's lineup. The best new price is $47.99 for a dozen at Amazon as of November 5, 2026, at the low end of what this ball typically sells for.
