Questions and answers

Is the Tornado Basic worth it for espresso?

It can grind fine enough for espresso, but the stepped settings limit fine tuning. For pressurized baskets and milk drinks it is fine; for a non-pressurized espresso machine, expect a narrow adjustment window.

How does it compare with a manual grinder like the Baratza Encore?

The Encore costs more but has a stronger motor, better burrs and widely available spare parts. The Tornado Basic wins on price and its built-in timer, and loses on grind consistency and long-term repairability.

What is in the box?

The grinder, a bean hopper with lid, a grounds bin and a cleaning brush. A scoop is sometimes included; check the listing before ordering.

How loud is it?

Casabrews calls the 150W motor low-noise, but burr grinders at this price typically run around 70–80 dB. It is quieter than a blade grinder but not conversation-quiet.

When is it cheapest?

The best new price we can confirm is $89.99 at Best Buy as of November 4, 2026. Budget burr grinders usually dip during Black Friday and holiday sales, so watch for drops then.

Where is the Casabrews Tornado Basic cheapest?

At Best Buy, for $89.99, as of our latest check.

Where can I buy the Casabrews Tornado Basic?

5 stores we checked sell it, including Walmart, Best Buy, Target, casabrews, eBay.
