Is the Clear Power extension cord safe for outdoor use?

Yes. It is ETL listed, flame retardant, and rated water and weather resistant, with a grounded 3-prong plug. That suits general-purpose outdoor power, not immersion or permanent burial.

Is it 12 feet or 25 feet?

Listings disagree: the product name says 12-foot, one listing shows 25 ft, and a store page describes a 12 ft cord. Check the length on the specific listing before you buy.

What gauge wire does it use?

Listings show 16 gauge. That is fine for lamps, chargers and light tools, but long runs at high draw will lose voltage; step up to 14 or 12 gauge for heavy tools.

Does the plug light up?

Yes. The indicator plug glows when the cord has power, which helps you tell a live outlet from a dead one.

Is $13.99 a good price?

It is the best new price among the 2 stores listing it as of November 4, 2026. With so few sellers there is little to compare against, so check the length and gauge match what you need before treating it as a deal.

Our take on the Clear Power 12-Foot Heavy-Duty Extension Cord

The Clear Power Heavy-Duty Extension Cord is an outdoor-rated SJTW cord with a grounded 3-prong plug and a glowing indicator plug that shows when power is live. It is ETL listed and flame retardant, and the jacket is water and weather resistant for general-purpose outdoor use. Listings disagree on length and color, so confirm the footage and jacket color before ordering. The best new price is $13.99 at Amazon as of November 4, 2026, and only 2 stores price it new, so comparison shopping is limited.
