Is the Coast TX22R worth $111?

At $111.00 at eBay as of November 5, 2026, you pay for a rugged aluminum body, adjustable focus and a rechargeable pack that also takes AA batteries. If you need a light carry light, a smaller model will serve you better.

Does the TX22R use standard batteries?

It ships with a rechargeable ZX965 pack and can also run on six AA batteries, which are not included. That gives you a fallback when the pack is empty.

How do you charge the TX22R?

A charging port sits under the tail cap. You unscrew the tail cap and plug in there, so the light is open while charging.

How bright is it and how far does it reach?

It has low, medium, high and Turbo modes, with low rated at 130 lumens and an 81 m beam distance. The focus system lets you narrow the spot for distance or widen it to flood.

What is the beam lock for?

The beam lock holds the focus ring in place so the beam does not shift in a bag or on a mount. Twist to unlock when you want to change from spot to flood.
