Our take on the COB LED Strip Lights Kit Waterproof IP68 24V Dimmable with Remote

This is a 6.6 ft warm white COB LED strip kit on a 24V system, sold as IP68 waterproof and dimmable with a remote. COB means a continuous phosphor line instead of separate diodes, so the light reads as one smooth band with no dotting. The 6.6 ft length and battery power source suit short runs where an outlet is not available. No current price was supplied for this listing, so check the live comparison before buying.

Questions and answers

Is this bright enough for outdoor steps?
At 6.6 ft it is best as accent lighting, not area lighting. It marks edges and railings well but will not light a path brightly on its own.
How long does the battery last?
Runtime depends on the battery pack and brightness setting, and no figure is given for this kit. Expect hours, not days, at full output, so plan on recharging or spare cells.
Can I cut it to length?
COB strips usually have marked cut points, but check the strip itself before cutting. Cutting elsewhere can kill the rest of the run.
Does IP68 mean the whole kit is waterproof?
The strip is rated IP68, but the battery pack, remote receiver and connectors usually are not. Seal those joints if the kit sits in rain.
What comes in the box?
Typically the 6.6 ft COB strip, a battery holder or pack, a remote and a receiver. Confirm the battery type, since cells are often not included.
When is it cheapest?
Short decorative strip kits tend to dip during seasonal outdoor-lighting sales and holiday events. Set a price alert and compare across stores rather than buying at first sight.
