Is this desk big enough for a desktop monitor and keyboard?

Yes for a single monitor up to about 27 inches plus a keyboard and mouse. It is too narrow for two monitors or a large tower on the desktop.

How long does assembly take?

Most owners report 30 to 60 minutes with the included tools. Having a second person helps when attaching the side panels.

Can the shelves hold a printer or heavy books?

Light items like books, a laptop or a small printer are fine. Avoid stacking heavy loads, since the shelves are thin wood panels.

Is it sturdy enough for daily work use?

It works for light daily use like a laptop and paperwork. It may wobble if you lean on it or load it heavily, so keep it against a wall.

The desk panels, the two compartment shelves, screws and the tools needed for assembly. A screwdriver is included, so no extra tools are required.

When is the best time to buy it?

Budget desks like this see the deepest discounts during back-to-school season and Black Friday. Check the price history before buying outside those windows.

Our take on the Costway 31.5'' Small Computer Desk with 2 Compartments

The Costway 31.5'' Small Computer Desk is a compact wood desk with two open storage compartments built into the side, aimed at tight bedrooms, dorms and small home offices. Its narrow footprint fits where a full-size desk won't, and the open shelves hold a laptop, books or a console without adding drawers. Assembly is required and tools are included. At 4.2 out of 5 from 131 ratings, it is a budget-tier desk, so expect particleboard-grade materials rather than solid wood.
