Is this plasma ball worth it?

For a cheap desk toy or small gift, yes. It is a 3-inch novelty, so do not expect a bright room lamp.

The globe is 3 inches in diameter, roughly the size of a large orange. It fits on a desk or shelf but is not a large display piece.

Does it need batteries or a plug?

It is listed as battery powered, so no outlet is needed. Budget for replacement batteries if it stays on often.

The glass globe can break if dropped, and it is not listed as a child-safe toy. Supervise younger children around it.

What comes in the box?

The listing describes a single 3-inch plasma ball. Batteries are not confirmed as included, so have some on hand.

Novelty lamps like this often dip around Halloween, Black Friday and Christmas. Check the price history before buying.

Our take on the DAYBETTER 3 inch Plasma Ball Lamp

The DAYBETTER 3 inch Plasma Ball Lamp is a small battery-powered novelty lamp with a glass globe that shows moving electric filaments when touched or switched on. At 3 inches across it is desk-toy sized, and the plastic housing keeps it light. It runs on batteries rather than a cord, so it can sit anywhere without an outlet.
