Is the DR-968H worth it over a basic space heater?

It adds a humidifier, thermostat, timer and remote to 1,500 W dual heating. If you only need spot heat, a simpler heater costs less; if dry air bothers you, the extra features earn their keep.

How does it compare with the DR-968?

The main addition is the built-in ultrasonic humidifier. Heating hardware is the same dual quartz and PTC design at 1,500 W, so expect similar warmth and power draw.

What size room will it heat?

At 5,200 BTU and 1,500 W it is rated for roughly 300 to 400 square feet in a well-insulated room. Larger or drafty spaces will feel less of the heat.

Can it run on a standard outlet?

Yes, it draws 12.5 A at 120 V, so use a dedicated 15 A circuit. Avoid sharing the outlet with other high-draw appliances.

The heater and a remote control. The humidifier is built in, so no separate unit is needed.

Space heaters usually drop in late fall and after the holidays. The best new price was $106.25 at eBay as of November 5, 2026, so compare against that.
