Our take on the Durofix RJ1217-PG G12 Series Cordless Mini Reciprocating Saw Kit

The Durofix RJ1217-PG is a 12V cordless mini reciprocating saw kit with a brushless-style variable-speed motor rated 0 to 3,000 SPM, tool-free blade changes, an LED light and a battery indicator. It weighs 2.7 lbs and measures 11.5 inches, so it fits one-handed work in tight spots better than a full-size recip saw. A dual-gear counterbalance mechanism cuts vibration. The kit includes a battery and case; the best new price is $89.99 at Durofix Tools as of November 7, 2026, the only new listing found.

Questions and answers

Is the Durofix RJ1217-PG good for cutting metal?
It handles thin metal, conduit and sheet with the right blade, but 12V and 3,000 SPM suit light gauge only. Thick steel or repeated heavy cuts call for an 18V full-size saw.
What comes in the kit?
The kit includes the saw, a 12V battery, a charger, a reciprocating blade and a carrying case. Confirm the blade count and charger type with the seller before ordering.
How does it compare with a full-size reciprocating saw?
It is far lighter at 2.7 lbs and easier to use one-handed, but it has less power and a shorter stroke. Use it for trim, PVC and conduit; rent or buy a corded saw for demolition.
Does it have a brushless motor?
Durofix does not state brushless construction for this model. Expect brushed-motor run time from the 12V battery, so keep a spare pack for longer jobs.
When is the price lowest?
Only one new listing was found: $89.99 at Durofix Tools as of November 7, 2026. Watch for holiday sales on the Durofix site, since there is no second store to compare against.
Where is the Durofix RJ1217-PG G12 Series Cordless Mini Reciprocating Saw Kit cheapest?
At Durofix Tools, for $89.99, as of our latest check.
