Our take on the Eastwood Sidejack Standard HB Electric Guitar

The Eastwood Sidejack Standard HB is a solid-body electric guitar built to a vintage offset shape, with a basswood body, set maple neck, rosewood board and two custom PAF-style humbuckers. It uses a 24 3/4-inch scale and a slim tapered neck, so it plays close to a Gibson-scale feel rather than a long Fender scale. A Tune-o-Matic bridge and stop tail come standard; a Les Trem vibrato is an optional add-on. The best new price is $399 at Eastwood Guitars as of November 4, 2026, the only new listing, so there is no lower price to compare against right now.

Best forPlayers who want a vintage-offset look on a budgetGuitarists who prefer short 24 3/4-inch scale and slim necksHumbucker fans after classic PAF-style rock and blues toneBuyers who want a set-neck guitar under $400
Pros
  • Set maple neck with slim taper profile plays fast
  • Two custom PAF-style humbuckers give warm, mid-forward tone
  • 24 3/4-inch scale makes bends and chords easier for smaller hands
  • Tune-o-Matic and stop tail are simple, stable and easy to set up
  • Binding and tobacco burst finish dress it up above its price
Cons
  • Basswood body is light on sustain compared with mahogany or ash
  • Les Trem vibrato costs extra and is not included
  • 1 5/8-inch nut is narrow for players used to wider necks
  • Only one new listing at $399, so no price competition
  • Nickel/chrome hardware and stock pickups are basic, not premium

Questions and answers

Is the Eastwood Sidejack Standard HB worth $399?
At $399 it is a fair price for a set-neck guitar with two humbuckers and a vintage offset body. Comparable set-neck imports often run $450 to $600, so the value is solid if you like the shape and short scale.
How does it compare with a Fender Jazzmaster or Jaguar?
It borrows the offset body shape but uses humbuckers and a 24 3/4-inch scale, closer to a Gibson feel than a Fender. A Jazzmaster has a 25.5-inch scale and single-coil pickups, so the Sidejack will sound warmer and bend easier.
Does it come with a tremolo?
No. The standard model ships with a Tune-o-Matic bridge and stop tail. A Les Trem vibrato is an optional add-on you pay for separately.
What is the scale length and nut width?
The scale length is 24 3/4 inches (628mm) and the nut width is 1 5/8 inches. That is a short scale with a narrow nut, suited to smaller hands and easy bending.
What strings does it ship with?
It comes strung with #9-46 gauge strings. That is a light set, so expect easy bends but a thinner tone until you move up a gauge.
When is the best time to buy it?
There is only one new listing, at $399 at Eastwood Guitars as of November 4, 2026, so there is no competing price to wait for. Watch for direct-from-Eastwood sales and holiday discounts rather than store price wars.
Where is the Eastwood Sidejack Standard HB Electric Guitar cheapest?
At Eastwood Guitars, for $399.00, as of our latest check.
Where can I buy the Eastwood Sidejack Standard HB Electric Guitar?
2 stores we checked sell it, including Eastwood Guitars, eBay.
