Is the PRS SE CE24 Standard Satin Stoptail worth it at $499?

At $499 at GearTree as of November 4, 2026, it is a strong value for a bolt-on PRS with coil tapping and a gig bag. That price is at the low end of its recent range across 7 stores.

How does it differ from the regular SE CE24?

The Standard Satin has an all-mahogany body with a satin finish and a fixed stoptail bridge. The standard SE CE24 has a maple top and a tremolo, so it sounds brighter and can do whammy effects.

Can the pickups do single-coil tones?

Yes. The push/pull tone control taps the 85/15 "S" humbuckers for brighter, snappier single-coil sounds. Pull the knob up for tapped tones and push it down for full humbuckers.

What is included in the box?

The guitar ships with a gig bag. No hard case or tremolo arm is included, since the bridge is a fixed stoptail.

Is this a good first electric guitar?

Yes. The fixed bridge keeps tuning stable and setup simple, and the coil tap gives beginners a range of tones. The 24-fret bolt-on neck is comfortable for most hand sizes.

It was $499 at GearTree as of November 4, 2026, the lowest of 7 stores pricing it new. Watch for holiday sales, when SE models often drop further.
