Is this the right filter for my fridge?

Check the filter number printed on your current filter or in the fridge manual. Filter 1 fits many Whirlpool, Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air and Amana models, but not all of them.

How often should I replace it?

EveryDrop rates Filter 1 for about 200 gallons or 6 months, whichever comes first. Replace sooner if flow slows or the fridge's filter light comes on.

Some Filter 1 versions are NSF 53 certified for lead reduction, but certification varies by model. Confirm the NSF listing on the package for the exact part you buy.

Is $18.99 a good price?

That is the best new price across 10 stores as of November 5, 2026. It is a low price for an OEM EveryDrop filter; generic filters often sell for less but are not certified the same way.

Is it worth buying over a generic filter?

If you want verified NSF certification and an exact fit, the OEM filter is the safer choice. Generic filters can work but their certification and fit are less certain.
