Is this the right filter for my refrigerator?

Check the filter number on your current cartridge or in the fridge manual. Filter 1 fits many Whirlpool, Maytag, Amana, KitchenAid and Jenn-Air side-by-side, top-freezer and bottom-freezer models, but it is not universal.

How often should I replace it?

Every six months or every 200 gallons, whichever comes first. Users who change it on schedule report the best results.

Why does the water taste odd at first?

New filters can leave high TDS or a slight taste until flushed. Run several gallons through the dispenser before drinking.

It is the genuine part, so it keeps the refrigerator warranty intact and covers lead and pharmaceuticals. Generic filters cost less but may not carry the same certification.

The best new price found is $29.99 at Pure Nature as of November 5, 2026. Multi-packs often lower the per-filter cost.
