Is the Player II Telecaster HH worth $879.99?

It is a well-built Mexican Fender with humbuckers and a comfortable neck. At $879.99 it is near its recent high, so it is a fair buy but not a bargain. Waiting for a sale or a used listing could save $50 to $100.

How is it different from the standard Player II Telecaster?

The standard model has two single coils and a more traditional Tele twang. The HH swaps in two humbuckers for a thicker, quieter rock tone and drops the single-coil brightness.

Does it have coil split or coil tap?

No. The Player II Telecaster HH has a three-way switch and master volume and tone, with no coil split. You get humbucker tones only.

You get the guitar, a Fender gig bag is not always included, so check the listing. Fender typically ships it with a truss rod wrench and no case unless the store bundles one.

Is the neck good for small hands?

The nut is 1.650 inches (42 mm) with a modern C profile, which suits most players. The 25.5-inch scale is standard Fender length, so reach is similar to other Teles and Strats.

Fender and its dealers discount most during holiday sales and end-of-year events. The current $879.99 is near the top of its range, so a sale price in the low $800s is realistic.

Our take on the Fender Player II Telecaster HH Electric Guitar

The Player II Telecaster HH is Fender's Mexico-built Tele with two humbuckers instead of the classic single coils. It keeps the 25.5-inch scale, alder body and maple neck, and adds a contoured tummy cut and rolled fingerboard edges for comfort. The HH layout gives thicker, quieter output for rock and gain-heavy playing. At $879.99 at Sweetwater as of November 4, 2026, it sits at the top of its recent range, so waiting for a sale is reasonable.
