Is the Florent sofa worth $1,439.20?

That is the only new price listed, at West Elm as of November 3, 2026. Contract-grade build and zip-off covers justify the price if you need durability; compare it with similar velvet sofas before deciding.

How firm is the seat?

The seat is rated 2 on a 1-to-5 firmness scale, so it is on the firm side. The down-blend fill softens it over time but it will not feel like a deep, sink-in couch.

Can the covers be removed and washed?

Yes. The cushions are reversible and have zip-off covers, which helps with spills and pet hair. Check the care label before machine washing velvet.

What are the dimensions?

The sofa is 106 inches long and 106 inches deep, with a rectangular bench silhouette. Measure your room and doorways first, since this is a large piece.

Is it suitable for a rental or office?

Yes. It is contract-grade and listed for both residential and commercial use, so it can handle heavier traffic than a standard home sofa.

The sofa ships with its frame, cushions and legs. Assembly is required; check the West Elm listing for the exact packing and delivery details.

Our take on the Florent Sofa

The Florent is a West Elm bench-style sofa with a solid and engineered wood frame, velvet upholstery and loose back cushions over down-blend seat cushions. It is contract-grade, so it is built for commercial use as well as home use, and the reversible cushions have zip-off covers for cleaning. At $1,439.20 at West Elm as of November 3, 2026, it is the only new price listed, so there is no recent range to compare it against.
