Is the West Elm Shelter Sofa good for everyday lounging?

Yes. The deep seat, 17-inch seat height and fiber-wrapped foam cushions are set up for reclining and long sitting sessions rather than upright formal seating.

Can I wash the cushion covers?

The seat and back cushion covers zip off, and the performance velvet is designed for cleaning. Follow West Elm's care label, and note that Astor Velvet covers are not reversible.

It is 92 inches long and 31 inches high, with a 17-inch seat height. Measure your room and doorways before ordering, since the length is the main fit constraint.

What is the frame made of?

The frame is solid oak and engineered hardwood, with concealed support legs. Seat cushions use high-resiliency polyurethane foam cores wrapped in fiber.

Does it come assembled?

West Elm typically delivers this sofa with legs and cushions to attach, so expect some setup. Check the delivery options at checkout for your address.

When is the best time to buy it?

West Elm runs seasonal sales and furniture promotions, and sofa prices move with those events. Compare the current price against its recent range before buying.
