Our take on the Frisco Heavy Duty Metal Dog Crate

The Frisco Heavy Duty Metal Dog Crate is a single-door wire crate for large and giant dogs up to 90 lbs, sold in Large and XX-Large sizes. It uses a black electro-coat finish, three latches on the front door and heavy-duty wire for dogs that push or chew. It does not collapse, so it is meant to stay in one place. At $195.79 at Chewy.com as of November 3, 2026, it is the only new price listed, so there is no recent range to compare it against.

Questions and answers

Is the Frisco Heavy Duty Metal Dog Crate worth it?
For a large or giant dog that needs a permanent, sturdy crate at home, yes. At $195.79 at Chewy.com as of November 3, 2026, it is priced like other heavy-duty wire crates, and the three latches and 90 lb rating are the main reasons to pick it.
How big is the XX-Large crate?
The XX-Large measures 54 in long, 36.5 in wide and 44.75 in tall. Measure your dog standing and add a few inches on each side before choosing between Large and XX-Large.
Does this crate fold for travel?
No. It is not collapsible, so plan on leaving it set up in one spot. For travel, a folding crate or a soft-sided carrier is a better fit.
What is included in the box?
The crate, its wire panels and the hardware to assemble it, plus a machine-washable mat. A food bowl or crate cover is not included.
Is it chew proof?
Frisco rates it heavy duty for bite and chew resistance, and the thick wire and electro-coat finish hold up better than light wire crates. No wire crate is fully chew proof for a determined dog, so pair it with training.
When is the price lowest?
Only one new price, $195.79 at Chewy.com as of November 3, 2026, is listed, so there is no recent range to time a purchase against. Watch for seasonal sales at Chewy.com.
Where is the Frisco Heavy Duty Metal Dog Crate cheapest?
At Chewy.com, for $195.79, as of our latest check.
