Our take on the Garvee Gas Chainsaw 2 Stroke

The Garvee Gas Chainsaw is a 58cc, 3-horsepower two-stroke saw with a 20-inch straight bar, chain brake and anti-vibration system. It targets homeowners and light farm or firewood work who want gas power at a low price rather than a pro-brand saw. No current store price was provided, so check the price history before buying.

Questions and answers

Is the Garvee 58cc chainsaw worth it?
It can be for occasional firewood and storm cleanup if the price is well under a comparable Stihl or Husqvarna. Weigh that against harder-to-find parts and service.
How does it compare with a 20-inch Stihl or Husqvarna?
It matches the bar length and roughly the displacement of mid-size pro saws on paper. The big brands offer dealer service, proven reliability and better resale.
What fuel mix does it need?
Two-stroke engines like this typically run on gasoline mixed with two-stroke oil, commonly at 40:1 or 50:1. Follow the ratio in the manual that comes with the saw.
Is a 58cc saw too big for a beginner?
It is heavy and powerful for light trimming. A smaller 40cc saw or a battery model is easier to start and safer for first-time users.
What comes in the box?
Expect the saw with its 20-inch bar and chain, plus a bar cover and basic tools. Confirm the included items on the listing before ordering.
When is the price lowest?
Gas chainsaws often drop in fall and around spring landscaping sales. Check the price history chart to see whether the current price is near its low.
