Is the Loheer 52cc chainsaw worth it?

It depends on price. At a low price it is a reasonable occasional-use gas saw for firewood and storm cleanup. If you cut often, a name-brand saw with dealer service is the safer buy.

What size wood can a 20-inch bar cut?

A 20-inch bar cuts through logs roughly 16 to 18 inches across in one pass. Larger trunks need a two-sided cut or a bigger saw.

What chain does it use?

It takes .325 pitch, .050 gauge chain on a 20-inch bar. Buy a matching loop and keep a spare on hand.

What fuel mix does it need?

Two-stroke gas saws of this size typically run a 40:1 to 50:1 gas-to-oil mix. Follow the manual's ratio and use fresh fuel with a stabilizer.

How does it compare with a battery chainsaw?

The gas Loheer has more sustained power for big logs and no runtime limit. A battery saw is quieter, lighter and starts instantly, which suits yard work better.

When is the price lowest?

Gas chainsaws usually drop in fall clearance and spring pre-season sales. Watch the price history and buy when it sits below its recent average.
