Is the Hart 20V combo kit worth it for a beginner?

Yes, if you need a drill and an impact driver for occasional home jobs. Two tools, a battery and a charger for a low price is a sensible first kit. Skip it if you plan heavy daily use, where brushless name-brand tools last longer.

Does it come with a battery and charger?

Yes. The kit includes one 20V lithium-ion battery and a charger, plus a double-ended driving bit and the manual. It does not include drill bits or a case.

Can I use other Hart 20V batteries in it?

Yes. The tools run on Hart's 20V lithium-ion platform, so any Hart 20V battery fits. Buying a second battery is the main upgrade for people who use both tools in one session.

How does it compare with a brushless combo kit?

Brushed motors like these are cheaper and simpler but less efficient and shorter-lived than brushless. A brushless kit costs more and usually includes two batteries. For weekend projects the Hart kit covers the same jobs.

What can the impact driver do that the drill can't?

The impact driver delivers rapid rotational blows, so it drives long screws and lag bolts with less wrist strain. The 1/2-inch drill/driver is better for holes, mixing and tasks needing a chuck and clutch.

When is the best time to buy it?

Hart kits see their deepest discounts around Black Friday, Father's Day and Walmart's spring and back-to-school tool events. Check the price history before buying outside those windows.

Our take on the Hart 20V Cordless Drill and Impact Driver Combo Kit

The Hart 20V Cordless Drill and Impact Driver Combo Kit pairs a 1/2-inch drill/driver with an impact driver running up to 2,500 RPM, both on the same 20V lithium-ion battery. It is a budget two-tool starter set with brushed motors and a single battery, so you swap the pack between tools. The kit includes a charger and a double-ended driving bit but no drill bits or case. It is sold at Walmart, where Hart is the house brand, and the combo typically lands well under what a name-brand two-tool kit costs.
