Our take on the Helinox Cafe Table

The Helinox Cafe Table is a packable 60 cm square camp table that stands 68 cm tall, roughly dining height, so you can sit in a full chair rather than on the ground. The top is high-pressure laminate on a DAC aluminum alloy frame with rotary resin hubs, and it packs to 6.84 lb in a carry case. It suits van-life, picnics and trailside lunches where a stable, heat-resistant surface matters. At $174.93 at REI as of November 4, 2026, it sits at the low end of its recent range across the 6 stores that list it new.

  • High-pressure laminate top resists heat and spills
  • DAC aluminum frame keeps packed weight to 6.84 lb
  • Rotary resin hubs make setup tool-free
  • Carry case and zippered flat case included
  • 60 x 60 cm top fits plates, drinks and a stove
Cons

  • Premium price compared with basic roll-top camp tables
  • Square top leaves little room for four full place settings
  • Taller height means it won't suit ground-sitting setups
