Is the Gaviota 6 good for overpronation?

Yes. It is Hoka's stability trainer, with a broad base and a guided ride for overpronation. It suits daily miles more than fast workouts.

How does the Gaviota 6 compare to the Bondi?

Both are max-cushion shoes, but the Gaviota adds stability for overpronators. The Bondi is neutral and slightly softer.

Does it come in wide sizes?

Yes. It is offered in normal (D) and wide (EE) widths, and some colorways list extra wide. Sizing runs true for most runners.

How much does the Gaviota 6 weigh?

About 10.25 oz in a men's sample size. That is on the heavy side for a road trainer.

Is $179.95 a good price?

It is the full retail price and the top of its recent range. If you can wait, discounts are likely as the model ages.

Our take on the Hoka Gaviota 6 M

The Hoka Gaviota 6 is a max-cushion road running shoe built for overpronation, with a broad, stable platform and Hoka's thick EVA midsole. It comes in normal, wide and extra-wide fits, which is rare among stability shoes. At $179.95 at Zappos as of November 7, 2026, it sits at the top of its recent price range, so waiting for a markdown is reasonable if you are not in a hurry.
