Questions and answers

Is the Homelite 12V trimmer worth it?
For small yards and light trimming, yes. At $29.00 at Home Depot as of November 4, 2026, it costs little and includes the battery and charger. It is not built for thick weeds or large lots.
How long does the 12V 2.5 Ah battery last?
Expect short runs, roughly 15 to 25 minutes of light trimming per charge. The 15W charger is slow, so a full recharge takes a few hours.
Can it edge as well as trim?
Yes. The straight shaft rotates so the head turns sideways for edging along walks and driveways. You switch it back for trimming.
What line does it use?
It uses .065 inch trimmer line on an auto-feed spool. Thinner line suits the 12V motor but wears faster in tough grass.
What comes in the box?
The trimmer, one 12V 2.5 Ah lithium-ion battery, a 120V charger, a grass deflector and the operator's manual.
When is it cheapest?
Clearance and end-of-season sales are the best bet for this model. The current $29.00 at Home Depot as of November 4, 2026 is already near the bottom of its range.
Where is the Homelite 12V Lithium 10 in. Cordless String Trimmer/Edger cheapest?
