Questions and answers

Is the Hosim 1/10 worth it at $142.32?

At $142.32 at Walmart as of November 4, 2026, it undercuts most brushless 1/10 trucks from Traxxas and Arrma. You get two LiPo packs and a radio in the box, so the value is strong if you accept weaker parts support.

How fast does it really go?

Hosim rates it at 43 mph, which assumes ideal gearing and a fully charged 2S pack. Expect mid-30s mph on grass or loose dirt. A 3S battery, sold separately, raises top speed but stresses the drivetrain.

What comes in the box?

The truck, a 2.4GHz transmitter, two 2600mAh 7.4V LiPo batteries, a charger and basic tools. It is ready to run; you only need AA batteries for the transmitter.

Can I run it in wet conditions?

It is listed as waterproof, which usually means splashes and damp grass are fine. Do not submerge it or run it in deep water; the electronics are splash-resistant, not sealed for diving.

Is it a good first RC car for a kid?

It is listed for adults and moves fast enough to hurt or break on impact. A younger driver is better served by a slower 1/16 or 1/18 truck. This one suits teens and adults with some throttle control.

When is it cheapest?

RC trucks like this discount around Black Friday and the winter holidays. The current $142.32 at Walmart is the lowest of the three new listings, so check whether it holds before a sale.
