Is the HP 17 good for everyday use?

Yes. The 17.3-inch FHD screen and 16 GB of RAM are comfortable for browsing, email, video and office work. It is less suited to heavy gaming or video editing.

Does it have an SSD or a hard drive?

It has both: hybrid storage with an SSD for the system and a hard drive for files. Boot and app loading are faster than a hard-drive-only laptop, but large file transfers are slower than on an all-SSD machine.

Is $849.99 a good price for this laptop?

It is the only new price listed as of November 7, 2026, so there is no recent range to compare it with. Check the price against other 17-inch laptops with 16 GB of RAM before deciding.

Is the HP 17 too big to carry around?

A 17.3-inch laptop is best kept on a desk. It is noticeably heavier and bulkier than a 14- or 15-inch model, so daily commuting with it is a chore.

Does it come with Windows installed?

Yes. This configuration ships with Windows preinstalled, so it is ready to set up out of the box.
