Is the $799 price at Amazon a good deal?

It is the best new price across the 4 stores that list it as of November 7, 2026, but it is the high end of its recent range. If you are not in a hurry, waiting for a dip is reasonable.

Is the 1600 x 900 screen sharp enough?

On a 17.3-inch panel, 1600 x 900 is noticeably soft; text and icons look less crisp than on a 1080p screen. It is fine for email, documents and web browsing, less so for photo work.

Can I upgrade the RAM or storage later?

RAM is listed at a 16 GB maximum, so plan on 16 GB for the life of the machine. The 1 TB SSD is the only drive, so check free space before installing large game or video libraries.

Does it handle gaming or video editing?

It uses integrated AMD graphics, so it suits light photo editing and casual games at low settings. Serious gaming or 4K video editing needs a laptop with a dedicated GPU.

What comes in the box?

Expect the laptop, its power adapter and paperwork; a mouse and sleeve are not listed. Windows 11 Pro is preinstalled.

Is it too heavy to carry daily?

At 4.82 lb it is light for a 17-inch laptop but heavy next to a 13-inch ultraportable. It suits commuting between desk and home more than all-day carrying.

Our take on the HP 17.3" Touchscreen Business Laptop

A 17.3-inch HP business laptop with a Ryzen 5 7430U, 16 GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD, running Windows 11 Pro. The big draw is the large touchscreen and full keyboard with number pad in a 4.82 lb chassis. The screen is the weak spot: 1600 x 900 HD+ on a 17-inch panel looks soft next to 1080p rivals. At $799 at Amazon as of November 7, 2026, it sits at the top of its recent range across the 4 stores that price it new.
