Our take on the Hykolity 24 inch Cruiser Bike Beach Bicycle Single Speed Commuter City Bike

The Hykolity 24-inch Cruiser is a single-speed, step-through city bike with a steel frame, steel rims and semi-slick 2.12-inch tires. It is built for flat, casual rides rather than speed or hills. The seat adjusts but the handlebar does not, so fit depends on seat height alone. At $169.99 at Target as of November 4, 2026, it is a low-cost entry into a cruiser, and only one store currently lists it new, so there is little price competition to shop around.

Best forCasual riders on flat streets and boardwalksShorter adults and teens who fit a 24-inch wheelBuyers who want a simple, low-maintenance single-speedStep-through frame fans who want easy mounting
Pros
  • Step-through steel frame is easy to mount and dismount
  • Single speed means almost no drivetrain maintenance
  • Semi-slick tires roll faster on pavement than knobby ones
  • Seat height adjusts up to 35.8 inches
  • Low price for a complete cruiser
Cons
  • Single speed is hard work on hills
  • Steel frame and rims make it heavier than aluminum bikes
  • Handlebar height is fixed, limiting fit adjustment
  • 24-inch wheels suit shorter riders; taller adults may feel cramped
  • Plastic pedals and PVC-backed seat are basic parts

Questions and answers

Is the Hykolity 24-inch cruiser worth it?
For flat, short trips and casual riding, yes. At $169.99 at Target as of November 4, 2026, it is a cheap way to get a step-through cruiser. Skip it if you face hills or want a light bike.
Who is a 24-inch cruiser bike for?
It suits shorter adults, teens and riders around 5 feet to 5 feet 6 inches. The 24-inch wheels and 17-inch frame keep the standover low. Taller riders should look at a 26-inch cruiser.
Can it handle hills?
Not well. It has one gear, so climbing means standing and pushing hard. It is best on flat streets, paths and boardwalks.
Does the seat and handlebar adjust?
The seat adjusts up to 35.8 inches. The handlebar height is fixed at 41.3 inches, so you cannot raise it for a more upright fit.
What do I need to assemble it?
Adult assembly is required, and the listing says no tools are needed. Expect to attach the front wheel, handlebar, seat and pedals, and to check brake adjustment before riding.
When is it cheapest?
Only Target lists it new at $169.99 as of November 4, 2026, so there is no competing store price to compare. Watch for seasonal bike sales in spring and end-of-summer clearance.
