Our take on the Micargi Slugo SS 26" Fat Tire Beach Cruiser Bike

The Micargi Slugo SS is a steel beach cruiser built around 26-inch wheels with 4-inch fat tires and a 7-speed drivetrain. The wide tires and stretched cruiser frame give it a stable, cushioned ride on sand, gravel and rough pavement. It is a heavy, single-purpose bike, not a commuter or trail machine. At $498 at Walmart as of November 4, 2026, it sits at the low end of what fat-tire cruisers cost, and three stores carry it new.

Best forBeach and boardwalk cruisingRiders who want a cushioned, upright rideGravel paths and packed sandStyle-focused casual riders
Pros
  • 4-inch fat tires float over sand and rough pavement
  • 7 speeds handle small hills better than a single-speed cruiser
  • Steel cruiser frame with a relaxed, upright stance
  • Distinctive fat-tire look at a modest price
  • 26-inch wheels roll over obstacles easily
Cons
  • Steel frame and fat tires make it heavy to pedal and carry
  • 7-speed gearing is modest for steep or long climbs
  • Fat tires add rolling resistance on smooth pavement
  • Cruiser geometry and weight limit it to casual riding

Questions and answers

Is the Micargi Slugo SS worth it?
For beach and casual path riding, yes. At $498 at Walmart as of November 4, 2026, it is a low-cost way into a 7-speed fat-tire cruiser. If you need speed or light weight, a hybrid or mountain bike suits you better.
How does it compare with a single-speed fat cruiser?
The 7-speed drivetrain lets you gear down on inclines, which single-speed fat cruisers cannot do. It still weighs more than a standard cruiser, so expect a slower, more effortful ride.
Can it ride on sand and snow?
The 4-inch tires spread weight and grip better than standard tires on packed sand and light snow. Loose, deep sand and icy surfaces still demand low tire pressure and careful riding.
What sizes does it come in?
It is listed as a unisex 26-inch frame with 26-inch wheels. Check the standover height and rider height range with the seller before ordering, since cruiser frames fit differently from road bikes.
What is included with the bike?
It ships as a complete bike, typically needing partial assembly of the front wheel, handlebars, seat and pedals. Confirm the box contents and any tools with the store before buying.
When is the price lowest?
Fat-tire cruisers often drop during end-of-summer and holiday sales. Track the price history here and compare the three stores listing it new before buying.
Where is the Micargi Slugo SS 26" Fat Tire Beach Cruiser Bike cheapest?
At Walmart, for $498.00, as of our latest check.
What do buyers say about the Micargi Slugo SS 26" Fat Tire Beach Cruiser Bike?
Rated 4.7 out of 5 from 15 ratings.
Where can I buy the Micargi Slugo SS 26" Fat Tire Beach Cruiser Bike?
5 stores we checked sell it, including eBay, Micargi Bicycles Online Shop, Walmart, Omaha Sports and Games Company, Upzy.com.
