Is $17.23 a good price for the BEKVÄM?

That is far below the usual cost of a solid wood cart, so it is a strong price if the listing is for the complete trolley. Confirm the listing includes both shelves and the casters before buying.

How much weight can each shelf hold?

About 20 lb per tier, roughly 19.8 lb per shelf. That suits produce, jars and small appliances, not a microwave or a full stockpot.

Does it need assembly?

Yes. It ships flat and needs to be put together with basic tools. Budget an hour or so and check it sits square before tightening everything.

What are the dimensions?

It is 58 cm wide and 50 cm deep, with a height of about 33.5 inches. Check that against your counter height and doorway widths if you plan to roll it between rooms.

Can it be used outdoors?

It is solid wood with a natural finish, so it is best kept indoors. Outdoors it will take on moisture and weather quickly.

IKEA carts rarely get deep discounts, so the lowest prices tend to come from resale and marketplace listings. Compare the full cart price, not just a part.

Our take on the IKEA BEKVÄM

The BEKVÄM is IKEA's solid wood kitchen cart: two shelves, a worktop, and casters so it rolls where you need it. Each tier holds about 20 lb, so it suits produce, jars and small appliances rather than a microwave or a full pantry load. It ships flat and needs assembly. At $17.23 at eBay as of November 6, 2026, it is far below what a solid wood cart usually costs, so check that listing is for the full cart and not a part.
