Our take on the IKEA FLISAT Children's Stool

The IKEA FLISAT is a small solid pine stool sized for toddlers and young children. It stands 28 cm (11 in) tall with a 10 1/4 in square seat and is rated to 77 lb, so it works as a seat at a low play table, a step, or a spot to sit while drawing and reading. The tinted clear acrylic lacquer finish keeps the pine look while making spills easier to wipe. The best new price is $39 at Poshmark as of November 6, 2026, with 4 stores listing it new.

Best forToddlers and preschoolers at a low play or craft tableFamilies who want bare wood that can be painted or stainedSmall rooms and play cornersA first step stool for kids up to 77 lb
Pros
  • Solid pine seat and legs, not particleboard
  • Light at about 4 lb 7 oz, so a child can move it
  • Simple slot-together assembly with no tools needed
  • Unfinished look takes paint, stain or chalk paint well
  • Small footprint fits under a low kids' table
Cons
  • Only 11 in seat height, so it is outgrown quickly
  • 77 lb limit rules out most adults
  • No back or sides, so a wobbly sitter can tip it
  • Bare pine dents and shows marker and paint marks
  • Legs can loosen over time with rough play

Questions and answers

Is the FLISAT stool sturdy enough for a toddler?
Yes. It is solid pine with a 77 lb weight limit, which covers most children up to about age six or seven. It is a stool with no back, so it suits sitting at a low table rather than climbing.
What age is the FLISAT stool for?
It is sized for small children, roughly toddler to early school age. The 11 in seat height works with low play tables; taller kids will want a chair with a back.
Does it need assembly?
Yes, but it is minimal. The legs push into the seat and the stool is ready in a few minutes without tools.
Can I paint or stain the FLISAT stool?
Yes. It comes with a tinted clear lacquer, and owners commonly sand it lightly and repaint or stain it. The solid pine takes paint well.
Is $39 a good price for the FLISAT stool?
That is the best new price across 4 stores as of November 6, 2026, at Poshmark. IKEA's own list price is usually lower, so check the IKEA store price and any delivery fee before buying elsewhere.
Does it match the FLISAT table?
Yes. The stool is part of the FLISAT children's series and is designed to sit at the FLISAT play table.
Where is the IKEA FLISAT Children's Stool cheapest?
At Poshmark, for $39.00, 31% under what the other stores charge, as of our latest check.
Where can I buy the IKEA FLISAT Children's Stool?
4 stores we checked sell it, including Poshmark, eBay, Mercari, Amazon.
