Is the KIVIK chaise good for everyday lounging?

Yes. The chaise is long enough to lie on, and the firm seat holds up to daily use. It suits lounging more than deep, soft napping.

Can I wash the Kelinge cover?

Yes. The covers are removable and machine washable on a gentle cycle. Air-dry or tumble low to avoid shrinkage.

Will it fit through my door?

Check your doorway width first. At 125 inches long, the sofa ships in sections, but the chaise frame is still bulky and needs a wide path.

Is $1,249 a good price?

It is the full list-level price; KIVIK sofas have sold for less during IKEA family and seasonal sales. If you can wait for a sale, you may save.

Can I buy replacement covers later?

Yes. IKEA sells KIVIK covers separately in several fabrics, so you can change the look or replace a worn cover.

Does it come assembled?

No. It comes flat-packed and needs assembly, which takes two people for the chaise section.

Our take on the IKEA KIVIK Sofa with chaise

The KIVIK is IKEA's mid-range upholstered sofa, here in the chaise version with a long chaise section for lounging. It has a thick foam-and-fiber seat, a wide low armrest and removable, washable fabric covers. The Kelinge gray-turquoise cover is a textured weave. At $1,249 at ModeSens as of November 7, 2026, it sits at the top of its usual range; KIVIK sofas have sold for less in past IKEA sales.
