Our take on the imarku 16-Piece Japanese High Carbon Stainless Steel Knife Block Set

The imarku 16-Piece Knife Block Set is a full kitchen knife lineup in a wooden block, built around Japanese high-carbon stainless steel blades. It covers the everyday jobs — chef's knife, santoku, bread knife, slicer, utility and paring knives — plus kitchen shears, a sharpener and a set of steak knives. The best new price is $239.99 at Target as of November 6, 2026, with two stores listing it new. That is a mid-range price for a 16-piece set; budget sets of this size often sell for under $100, and premium Japanese brands run several times higher.

Questions and answers

Is the imarku 16-piece set worth it?
For a first full kitchen setup, yes: it covers prep, bread, steak and shears in one buy at $239.99 at Target as of November 6, 2026. If you only need a chef's knife and a paring knife, buy those two individually instead.
Are the knives dishwasher safe?
No. High-carbon stainless blades should be hand washed and dried right away; dishwasher heat and detergent dull edges and can spot the steel.
What is included in the 16 pieces?
Expect chef's, santoku, bread, slicing, utility and paring knives, steak knives, kitchen shears, a sharpener and the wooden block. Check the piece list before buying if a specific knife matters to you.
How does it compare with a $100 knife block?
You get better steel and a fuller piece count, but the jump is mostly in edge retention and finish. A budget block will cut fine at first but dull faster.
What warranty does it carry?
A 30-day limited warranty. That is short for the price, so keep the receipt and inspect every piece on arrival.
When is the price lowest?
Knife block sets usually dip during Black Friday and holiday sales. Track the price history here rather than assuming the current $239.99 is the floor.
Where is the imarku 16-Piece Japanese High Carbon Stainless Steel Knife Block Set cheapest?
At Target, for $239.99, 60% off, as of our latest check.
What do buyers say about the imarku 16-Piece Japanese High Carbon Stainless Steel Knife Block Set?
Rated 4.8 out of 5 from 434 ratings.
Where can I buy the imarku 16-Piece Japanese High Carbon Stainless Steel Knife Block Set?
2 stores we checked sell it, including Target, Lowe's.
