Our take on the Joystone 1:14 Brushless RC Monster Truck

The Joystone 1:14 Brushless RC Monster Truck is a hobby-grade electric monster truck with a brushless motor and LiPo battery, sized at 9.4 x 5.5 x 4 inches. It is aimed at ages 14 and up, so it sits between toy-grade trucks and full-size hobby bashers. At $159.89 at Walmart as of November 4, 2026, it is the only new price listed, so there is no recent range to compare it against.

Pros
  • Brushless motor gives more speed and longer motor life than brushed trucks
  • LiPo battery included, so it runs out of the box
  • 1:14 size fits small yards and is easy to carry
  • Monster truck stance handles rough ground better than a buggy
Cons
  • Only one new price listed, so there is no price history to judge the deal
  • 3.6 out of 5 from 24 ratings is a middling score
  • LiPo batteries need proper charging and storage care
  • Age 14+ means it is not a toy for younger kids
  • Spare parts and support for a smaller brand can be hard to find

Questions and answers

Is the Joystone brushless monster truck worth $159.89?
That is the only new price listed, at Walmart as of November 4, 2026, so there is no cheaper recent price to wait for. At that price you get a brushless motor and LiPo battery, which is the main reason to pick it over a brushed toy truck.
How fast is a 1:14 brushless monster truck?
Brushless 1:14 trucks typically run well above toy-grade speeds, often 25 to 35 mph on 2S LiPo. Joystone does not publish a top speed here, so treat it as a fast backyard truck rather than a track racer.
What battery does it use, and can I run a bigger one?
It uses a LiPo battery, which is included. Check the ESC and battery tray rating before fitting a larger pack, since higher voltage can overheat the electronics.
Is it too much truck for a 10-year-old?
Yes. The minimum recommended age is 14, and brushless speed plus LiPo handling make it a poor fit for younger kids. A brushed 1:16 or 1:18 truck is a safer first step.
What comes in the box?
Expect the truck, a radio transmitter, the LiPo battery and a charger. Confirm the charger type before buying, since basic chargers are slow.
Where is it cheapest?
Walmart lists it at $159.89 as of November 4, 2026, and it is the only new price on record. Check back for other stores before buying.
Where is the Joystone 1:14 Brushless RC Monster Truck cheapest?
At Walmart, for $159.89, as of our latest check.
What do buyers say about the Joystone 1:14 Brushless RC Monster Truck?
Rated 3.6 out of 5 from 24 ratings.
