Is this roll worth it over the 5 in. Kerdi-Band?

If you are waterproofing a whole shower or several rooms, yes. The 10 in. width covers floor-to-wall joints and wide seams in one pass, and 98 ft. 5 in. means fewer splices than short 5 in. rolls.

What thinset do I use with Kerdi-Band?

Use unmodified thinset, as Schluter specifies for Kerdi and Ditra. Mix it to a consistency that holds a notch and press the band in firmly so no air pockets remain.

Can I use it in a shower?

Yes. It is shower-approved and made to seal seams and floor/wall connections in Kerdi and Ditra shower assemblies. The membrane system, not the band alone, provides the waterproof layer.

How much area does one roll cover?

The roll is 10 in. wide and 98 ft. 5 in. long, about 82 square feet of strip. Actual coverage depends on how many seams and corners your layout has.

Does the 4 mil thickness cause tile build-up?

No. At 4 mil it is thin enough that overlaps and seams stay low under tile. Keep laps tight and avoid excess thinset to keep the surface flat.

When is the best time to buy it?

Prices at The Home Depot and the other listing store move with promotions. Compare both stores before a large order, since a single roll covers a whole bathroom.

Our take on the Kerdi-band 10" Waterproofing Strip 98'5" (KEBA100/250)

Kerdi-Band is a polyethylene waterproofing strip that seals seams between Kerdi, Ditra and Kerdi-Board, plus floor-to-wall and corner joints. It bonds with unmodified thinset and its 4 mil thickness keeps build-up low under tile. This roll is 10 in. wide and 98 ft. 5 in. long, a large format for whole bathrooms or multi-room jobs. The best new price is $191.95 at The Home Depot as of November 4, 2026, with two stores listing it new.
