Is the Kobalt 24V brushless combo kit worth it?

At $149.95 at eBay as of November 4, 2026, it is a cheap way into brushless 24V tools with a strong drill. Budget for a second battery if you plan long sessions.

How does it compare with the brushed Kobalt 24V kit?

The brushless motor delivers more runtime per charge and should last longer, and the drill is rated at 850 in-lbs. The brushed kit costs less but is heavier and less efficient.

How long does the 4.0 Ah battery last?

Expect several hours of mixed drilling and driving on one charge, less in concrete or with large hole saws. The 85-watt charger refills it in roughly an hour.

What comes in the box?

The kit includes the 1/2-inch brushless drill, a second 24V tool, one 4.0 Ah lithium-ion battery, an 85-watt charger and a soft contractor bag.

Do Kobalt 24V batteries fit other brands?

No. Kobalt 24V batteries only work in Kobalt 24V tools, so the kit commits you to that platform.

Kobalt runs frequent promotions around holidays and store events. The current $149.95 at eBay is already near the bottom of its recent range.
