Our take on the Ktaxon 26 inch Beach Cruiser Bike 7-Speed with Rear Rack

The Ktaxon 26-inch Beach Cruiser is a steel-framed, 7-speed cruiser with swept-back bars, a rear cargo rack and V-brakes. It is built for relaxed, upright riding on flat streets and paths, not for hills or speed. The 17-inch frame and 200 lb max load suit most adult riders. At $189.99 at Walmart as of November 4, 2026, it is the only new price listed, so there is no recent range to compare against.

Best forCasual riders on flat streets and boardwalksShoppers who want a rear rack for errandsAdults who prefer an upright, low-effort rideA first adult bike on a tight budget
Pros
  • Rear rack included for bags and groceries
  • 7 speeds give more range than a single-speed cruiser
  • Upright steel frame is comfortable for short trips
  • V-brakes are simple and easy to service
  • Low price for a geared cruiser with a rack
Cons
  • Steel frame and rims make it heavy
  • No suspension, so rough pavement is felt
  • V-brakes are weaker than disc brakes in wet weather
  • Ships unassembled; some tools and setup needed
  • 200 lb max load limits heavier riders and cargo

Questions and answers

Is the Ktaxon cruiser worth $189.99?
For flat-ground commuting and errands, yes: a geared cruiser with a rack at this price is uncommon. If you ride hills or want light weight, spend more on an aluminum frame.
How many gears does it have and will it climb hills?
It has 7 speeds. That helps on gentle slopes, but the steel frame and wide cruiser tires make steep climbs hard work.
What size rider fits the 17-inch frame?
The 17-inch frame and 26-inch wheels suit most riders around 5'4" to 6'0". The listed height range starts at 60 inches, and the max load is 200 lb.
Does it come assembled?
No. It ships partly assembled, so expect to fit the front wheel, handlebars, seat and pedals and to adjust the brakes and derailleur.
Does it have a rear rack and can it carry cargo?
Yes, a rear rack is included. Keep total rider and cargo weight at or under the 200 lb limit.
When is the price lowest?
Cruisers often drop in late fall and winter. The only new price listed is $189.99 at Walmart as of November 4, 2026, so watch for seasonal markdowns.
Where is the Ktaxon 26 inch Beach Cruiser Bike 7-Speed with Rear Rack cheapest?

What do buyers say about the Ktaxon 26 inch Beach Cruiser Bike 7-Speed with Rear Rack?
